As you may know, Hurricane Rita made landfall at 2:30 a.m. between Lake Charles, Louisiana and Port Arthur, Texas. Plaza Specialty Hospital experienced minor winds and rain. The hospital has no major damage and is operating on full power. Additional security was obtained to assist as needed through the storm and will remain on-site through the weekend.

We hope that you and your family remained safe during the storm. Special thanks to the hospital’s staff and management who worked effortlessly to adequately prepare for the safety of our patients, employees and physicians.

Plaza Specialty Hospital is currently implementing its severe weather plan in preparation for Hurricane Rita’s landfall. Part of this planning involves, evacuating critically ill patients to help ensure that they receive the level of care needed, as well as stocking essential supplies. Our hospital will remain open and in operation.
